The Bureau of Labor Statistics ranks Medical Assistants among the fastest growing occupations. Employment of medical assistants is expected to grow 34% from 2008 to 20181. Job opportunities should be excellent, particularly for those with formal training or experience and certification.

  • “Shadowing” & a 160-hour Internship  

“Shadowing” and Internship

Medical Assistants taking notes.The 160-hour Medical Assistant Internship helps students transition from the classroom into the workforce. Students get real life experience, and earn a positive reference for future employment. Students may also receive an offer of employment at the internship site.

Students “shadow” (observe) medical professionals twice during their program to prepare for internships. Sites include physician’s offices, group practices, hospitals and urgent care settings. Day students begin the internship immediately after the last class day. Evening students may begin a daytime internship during the last weeks of class, providing they have met clinical competencies.

Tool Bonus

Medical Assistant students who obtain training-related employment within 90-days of graduation are eligible to receive a Littman Stethoscope. The complete Tool Bonus Policy is outlined in the Student Orientation Booklet.

Program Length & Calendar

A doctor.The Medical Assistant program is completed in 30 weeks of day classes (Monday through Friday) or 75 weeks of evening classes (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday), which includes 10 weeks of internship. For more information, please contact us about the next class start date.

Faculty & Staff

MTTI Instructors are highly experienced health care professionals that meet the standards of approval by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Division of Proprietary Schools and the ACCSC (the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.) MTTI Instructors and Staff work together with Career Service Specialists to assist students in pursuing their career goals.

Diploma

Students who successfully complete the 900-hour program will receive a Medical Assistant Diploma. Each of MTTI’s programs has been approved by the Massachusetts and Rhode Island state education agencies, and the ACCSC (the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.)
